Our Women's Ministry has several opportunities to grow in your faith and serve - such as our WMU, Sisterhood, an Lorena's HOPE.

WMU

WMU Ministries was founded in 1888 as an auxiliary of the Southern Baptist Convention to help churches mobilize for missions. Its core purpose is to make disciples of Jesus who live on mission by providing resources and opportunities that encourage prayer, education, financial support, and active involvement in local and global missions.

Southside WMU works through Wednesday Mission classes such as Girls in Action, Royal Ambassadors, and Mission Friends. We also participate annually in Operation Christmas Child shoeboxes.

Sisterhood
Lorena's HOPE
Lorena's HOPE is a service of WMU and is open to the public for all women. We teach adults to sew a straight line and when they are ready, how to make quilts, zipper pouches, aprons, etc. We also teach craft items to put in Operation Christmas Child shoeboxes. We have an annual baking fundraiser the Sunday before Thanksgiving.  We also host a Quilting Retreat each Spring.  We meet every Thursday January through November at Southside Baptist Church Fellowship Hall.
